It can be difficult to catch a telecom SPOF before it arises, but this is where VC4’s Inventory & Management System (IMS) comes in, as it can carry out an assessment of a network to see where it might fail.
IMS does this by identifying the critical components of the network that would result in downtime in the event of a malfunction. The inventory system then alerts engineers of the issue, meaning they can work quickly to fix it and keep customers connected as much as possible.
The technology can perform these assessments efficiently because it understands the protection schemes a network uses, as well as its relationship with other networks.
After calculating their topologies and the current level of customer service, IMS will then highlight any single points of failure that are present.
