Find out some more information on VC4’s Inventory & Management System (IMS) architecture – specifically related to database and application, and details about high availability.
IMS Architecture: Database and application
IMS is a Microsoft Windows-based application, which can be virtualized via Remote Desktop, Citrix XenApp or other similar solutions.
The database runs on Oracle and supports all versions of the database management system from nine onwards.
IMS Architecture: High Availability
IMS can be built in a high-availability environment, making use of redundant hardware and software at both the primary and data replication site.
Protection for data can be provided via backups or tools like Oracle RAC, Data Guard and Oracle Streams.
